WANA (Jun 09) – Hezbollah has praised Iran’s missile strikes carried out in response to the bombing of Beirut’s southern suburbs, describing the action as a demonstration of the Islamic Republic’s moral, political, and practical commitment to Lebanon. The group also sharply criticized pro-Western Lebanese politicians and factions for their attacks on Tehran.

 

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Hezbollah said Iran’s missile response came after Israel continued its military operations against Lebanon and once again targeted Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiyeh. According to the group, these attacks were conducted with full U.S. backing and represented yet another violation of the ceasefire agreement and international commitments.

 

The statement said Iran’s action was intended to underscore the importance of preserving regional stability and ensuring that all parties adhere to existing agreements. Hezbollah argued that Israel, in particular, must be held accountable for respecting those commitments.

 

According to the group, the missile strikes also carried a clear message to regional and international actors regarding the need to halt Israeli attacks and prevent further escalation.

 

Hezbollah added that the operation coincided with support from Yemen’s Ansarallah movement and formed part of broader efforts to strengthen deterrence against Israel. It also described the strikes as a message to Washington, warning that continued U.S. support for Israeli attacks on Lebanon could undermine any prospects for future agreements or understandings.

 

The group further stated that Iran continues to insist on the inclusion of a comprehensive ceasefire in any potential agreement. Such a ceasefire, it said, would pave the way for an Israeli withdrawal, the return of displaced residents, the reconstruction of damaged areas, and the release of detainees.

 

In another section of the statement, Hezbollah described Iran’s support for Lebanon as evidence of the historical relationship and shared values between the two nations. It said Tehran has consistently stood by Lebanon, supported the resistance, and contributed to reconstruction efforts following Israeli military operations.

 

Hezbollah also launched a strong criticism of certain pro-Western political figures in Lebanon, arguing that Iran’s support for the country deserves appreciation rather than criticism or insults. The group described accusations made by some Lebanese officials against Iran as inaccurate and contrary to both reality and Lebanon’s national interests.

 

The statement further condemned cooperation with the United States and Israel against Iran, calling such actions inconsistent with diplomatic norms and warning that they ultimately serve Israeli interests.

 

Hezbollah concluded by urging the Lebanese government to use the current opportunity to place relations with Iran on a more constructive path that benefits both countries.

 

The group also expressed gratitude, on behalf of the families of martyrs, displaced people, and the Lebanese public, for what it described as Iran’s courageous and valuable position.

 

The statement ended by emphasizing that Iran’s leadership, government, parliament, military, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and people stand alongside Lebanon and will continue to do so until the Lebanese people achieve their full rights, regardless of the costs involved.
