Historic Gold Medal by Hessam Moradi at the Fencing World Cup
WANA (Feb 13) – Iran’s national fencing team in the youth and junior age categories traveled to Dakar, Senegal, to compete in the World Cup competitions.
In the individual youth event, Hessam Moradi won a gold medal for the first time in the history of Iranian fencing at the World Cup. In the final match, he defeated the Ecuadorian sabre fencer 15–12.
This was the first gold medal in the history of Iranian fencing in this age category at the World Cup. Farzad Baher is in charge of coaching the team.
