WANA (Feb 18) – International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi held a phone call on Wednesday with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi to review the latest developments in the ongoing indirect talks between Iran and the United States.

During the call, the two sides discussed the outcomes of the most recent round of indirect negotiations in Geneva and exchanged views on the mechanisms and requirements for drafting a preliminary framework for future talks.

Araghchi expressed Iran’s appreciation for Grossi’s engagement in the negotiations and emphasized Tehran’s focus on establishing a coherent framework to advance the discussions.

Grossi, in turn, positively assessed the results of the previous day’s meeting and reaffirmed the IAEA’s readiness to provide support and cooperation in shaping the negotiation framework.

This phone conversation follows a meeting between Grossi and Araghchi on Monday in Geneva, ahead of the second round of Iran–U.S. talks, reflecting ongoing coordination and consultation between Tehran and the IAEA regarding the nuclear negotiation process.
