If a Resolution Is Issued, Iran’s Level of Cooperation Will Change
WANA (Jun 09) – On Sunday evening, June 8, on the eve of the quarterly meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Behrouz Kamalvandi, Deputy Director and Spokesperson of the Atomic Energy Organization, spoke on the “Special News Dialogue” program regarding the latest developments in the nuclear industry, the actions of the Agency’s Director General, and Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Referring to the new report of the International Atomic Energy Agency against Iran’s nuclear program, the Deputy Director considered it a political move.
He stated that almost 22 percent of the inspections of the past year were allocated to Iran. In comparison, the number of our nuclear facilities is 3 percent of the world’s total.
Referring to the use of the phrase “less than satisfactory” regarding Iran’s cooperation with the Agency in the recent report of IAEA , he added: The Agency has played with words in this report. There has never been a case where the Agency has inspected anywhere and said that the result was “less than satisfactory,” and this phrase does not exist in safeguards literature because inspections are either satisfactory or not, and we do not have such a concept.
The Agency has tried to express its dissatisfaction with this language, because if it were to express it in precise language, it would not be possible to say what specific issue it is dissatisfied with.
He also said about the possible issuance of an anti-Iranian resolution by the Board of Governors that we have prepared a list of Iran’s countermeasures after the possible issuance of an anti-Iranian resolution by the Board of Governors, ad
“One part of our measures is technical and another part is the type of cooperation with the Agency. Certainly, after this issue, the Agency should not expect that the extensive and sincere cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue.” Kamalvandi said.
