WANA (Apr 06) – An informed source, reacting to Donald Trump’s recent threats to target Iran’s critical infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, said the U.S. president is now attempting to divert public attention with threatening rhetoric after a series of setbacks and retreats, as well as what the source described as a “historic defeat today in Isfahan.”

The source said Trump, following repeated failures, is using threatening messages on social media in an effort to shift focus away from developments on the ground and their consequences — developments that, according to the source, have turned this into one of the most “remarkable and historic” days in the course of the confrontation.

Warning against any potential U.S. action targeting Iran’s civilian infrastructure, the source said that if Trump chooses to act on these threats and escalate what was described as his recklessness, he would not only deepen and magnify his own defeat, but also widen the scope of the war’s consequences in ways that directly affect U.S. interests.

According to the source, any escalation by Washington would place all U.S. interests in the region under direct threat, while also increasing the likelihood that the effects and repercussions of the conflict could extend beyond the region and reach the U.S. mainland.

The source stressed, however, that this warning should not be interpreted as a threat of a direct missile strike on the United States. Referring to Trump’s earlier claims about reciprocal threats, the source said the U.S. president had “lied” on this issue before the war and is continuing to do so now. Still, the source added, Trump will see that if he continues down this path, the United States will face “severe turbulence from within its own territory.”

The source further argued that just as Trump made a major miscalculation in his initial assessment when launching the war, he is now making another serious error in calculating the consequences of further escalation — a mistake that, according to the source, will only intensify Washington’s defeat.

The source concluded by saying that Iran is fully prepared for any level of escalation and will respond proportionately to any action taken by the opposing side.
