WANA (Jul 11) – An informed source close to Iran’s negotiating team has dismissed reports published by several media outlets affiliated with Israel claiming that Tehran has requested negotiations with the United States, saying no talks will take place unless Washington changes its current positions.

 

The source described the reports as false and stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has made no request for negotiations with the United States.

 

According to the source, any future negotiations depend on the U.S. stepping back from its current stance and implementing previously agreed understandings. These include the establishment of a special working group on Lebanon aimed at ending the war, resolving issues related to passage through the strait in line with Iran’s proposed arrangements, and restoring Iran’s oil exports and the broader flow of oil to normal conditions.

 

The source added that any speculation about the start of negotiations before these conditions are met is unfounded and does not reflect the current reality.
