Informed Source Rejects Al Arabiya Report on 10-Year Suspension of Iran’s Uranium Enrichment
WANA (May 23) – An informed source has strongly denied a report by the Saudi-owned Al Arabiya network claiming that Iran proposed suspending uranium enrichment above 3.6 percent for a period of 10 years as part of talks with the United States.
Al Arabiya had claimed that one of the clauses in a potential agreement between Tehran and Washington involved halting uranium enrichment above the 3.6 percent level for a decade. The report quickly drew reactions from sources familiar with the ongoing exchanges.
According to the informed source, the report is “completely fabricated” and has no connection to the current discussions taking place between the two sides.
The source added that the focus of the ongoing messages and contacts is solely on ending the war and reducing tensions, stressing that no details related to the nuclear issue or enrichment levels are currently under discussion.
The denial comes amid a growing wave of speculation and unverified media reports surrounding indirect contacts between Iran and the United States, as regional tensions continue to escalate.
