Instagram Shuts Down Sepah News Page
WANA (Jun 26) – Colonel Iman Tajik, spokesperson for Operation “True Promise 3”, announced that the Instagram page associated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has been taken down. He stated: “Following the failure of Israeli and American terrorist operations against Iran—and amid growing public interest in IRGC’s announcements and achievements—Instagram decided to block the page linked to Sepah News.”
According to reports, during the 12-day war waged against Iran by the Israeli regime, both domestic and international pages associated with Sepah News saw a significant surge in audience engagement, content views, and public interest. This rise was particularly notable as the public actively sought uncensored and accurate updates about developments in the region.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military’s strike on Iran’s state broadcaster headquarters, which resulted in the killing and injuring of several journalists, triggered widespread condemnation and renewed calls for the protection of media freedom. Observers see this attack as part of a broader pattern of repressive tactics used by hostile regimes to suppress the free flow of information and public awareness.
Media analysts believe that the ongoing pressure on independent outlets, the arrest of journalists, and the restriction of official news channels—combined with military actions—reflect a failed attempt to suppress independent and influential narratives in the ongoing information warfare.
