International Internet Access Gradually Restored in Iran
WANA (May 26) – International monitoring services and technical data indicate that access to the global internet in Iran is gradually expanding, with some of the recent restrictions now easing.
According to the latest figures released by NetBlocks, internet connectivity in Iran has risen to approximately 34 percent. The internet monitoring organization said its live data shows a partial restoration of online access across the country.
At the same time, data from Cloudflare Radar points to a steady increase in internet traffic and data center connectivity in Iran. Charts published by the service show a rise in user requests and data exchange volume over the past 24 hours, signaling a gradual recovery of international internet access.
Even during the recent disruptions, parts of the international internet remained accessible, and several foreign websites and online services continued to function for users in Iran. Comparative data published by Cloudflare Radar over the past week had also reflected this partial connectivity.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that full international internet access has now been restored for users of Iran’s fixed-line broadband services operated by the Telecommunications Company of Iran. Subscribers using FTTH, VDSL, and ADSL services are reportedly able to access international websites and online platforms without restrictions.
However, some mobile internet users in different parts of the country continue to report limited access and disruptions affecting certain foreign services, indicating that the nationwide restoration process is still ongoing.
