Iran and Oman Foreign Ministers Hold Phone Talks on Regional Developments
WANA (Dec 29) – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, held a phone conversation to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.
During the call, the two ministers reviewed the state of Iran–Oman relations and exchanged views on ways to maintain dialogue and cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Relations between Tehran and Muscat have remained relatively stable in recent years, and the conversation was seen as part of ongoing diplomatic consultations between the two countries.
Araghchi expressed concern over recent developments in southern Yemen, emphasizing the need for regional countries to work together to preserve Yemen’s territorial integrity and strengthen stability. His remarks come amid continued uncertainty and ongoing developments on the ground in Yemen, which remain a key concern for regional actors.
The two foreign ministers also discussed developments in West Asia, the Mediterranean region, and the Horn of Africa.
They stressed the importance of continued consultation and coordination among Islamic countries, noting that closer political dialogue could play a significant role in reducing tensions and countering sources of instability and division across the region.
