WANA (Jun 16) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi held a phone conversation on Tuesday to discuss bilateral relations, regional developments, and recent diplomatic understandings.

 

During the call, the two sides reviewed the latest state of cooperation between Tehran and Muscat and emphasized the need to further expand and deepen bilateral ties across various sectors, based on the principles of good neighborliness and the longstanding historical and cultural bonds between the two countries.

 

The foreign ministers also exchanged views on the Islamabad memorandum of understanding and other issues of mutual interest, agreeing on the importance of continued consultations and political coordination aimed at strengthening regional stability, security, and cooperation.

 

In another part of the discussion, Araghchi and Albusaidi highlighted the importance of maintaining security and stability in regional waterways. They stressed the need to ensure maritime security and uphold international laws and regulations governing the safe and free passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

 

The two ministers further underscored the value of sustaining a constructive diplomatic atmosphere and enhancing regional cooperation as key factors in promoting peace and stability, while reaffirming their commitment to continued dialogue and coordination on regional issues.
