WANA (Jul 25) – As part of ongoing diplomatic consultations regarding the situation in Gaza, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation on Friday with his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

The discussion focused on the continued Israeli attacks on Gaza and the worsening humanitarian crisis, particularly the deliberate starvation of the enclave’s population. The call came amid a series of regional contacts initiated by Araghchi to coordinate positions on the unfolding events in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Earlier the same day, Araghchi also spoke by phone with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. In that conversation, he stressed the need to utilize all available mechanisms — including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other international frameworks — to break the blockade on Gaza, ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, and put an end to what he described as genocide in the occupied territories.

On Thursday, Araghchi had also held talks with the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, urging for an emergency meeting of the OIC to address the Gaza crisis and mobilize action to stop Israel’s military campaign.

The flurry of diplomatic activity reflects Iran’s push to galvanize regional and international efforts to confront what it sees as a grave and escalating humanitarian tragedy in Gaza.
