WANA (May 18) – The interior ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan, during their second meeting in the past two days, emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral relations, strengthening border cooperation, and increasing cross-border exchanges between the two countries.

 

During the meeting, Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and Pakistan’s Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi reviewed the latest developments in mutual cooperation and exchanged views on regional issues and ongoing developments in the region. Expanding border trade and enhancing security and economic cooperation were also among the key topics discussed.

 

The meeting came as part of ongoing high-level consultations between Tehran and Islamabad aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties. During his official visit to Tehran, Pakistan’s interior minister has also met with several senior Iranian officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

 

Later on Monday, May 18, Syed Mohsin Naqvi also met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi as part of his official engagements in Tehran. The two sides discussed bilateral relations, regional cooperation, and ongoing regional developments.
