WANA (Apr 13) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, held a telephone conversation on Monday night to discuss the evolving security landscape in the Middle East.

 

Minister Araghchi detailed the latest developments following the announcement of a ceasefire and the subsequent negotiations between Iran and the United States in Islamabad.

 

During the call, he issued a stern warning regarding the “dangerous consequences” of provocative U.S. actions in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, noting their threat to both regional and global peace and security.

 

Russia Condemns Aggression

Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed Russia’s principled stance in condemning the military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran. The Russian Foreign Minister called on the U.S. to demonstrate seriousness in advancing the diplomatic process to restore regional security.

 

The two top diplomats emphasized the necessity of continued bilateral and multilateral consultations, pledging to utilize all diplomatic capacities to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.
