WANA (Oct 08) – During the meeting, both sides emphasized the need to establish effective mechanisms for joint research and academic cooperation between universities and scientific institutions in Iran and Switzerland.

The Swiss Minister of Science highlighted the potential of Switzerland’s Leading Houses — national centers that coordinate international research collaboration — and expressed his country’s readiness to utilize these capacities to strengthen scientific exchanges with Iran.

It was also agreed that, through coordination with Iran’s Center for International Scientific Cooperation (CISC), the necessary frameworks for sustained collaboration will be established.

Hossein Simaee, Iran’s Minister of Science, Research, and Technology, is currently heading a high-ranking delegation to Japan to attend the Science and Technology in Society (STS) Forum, taking place in Kyoto from October 5 to 7, 2025.
