Iran and Turkey Determined to Advance Regional Stability
WANA (Dec 02) – Iran and Turkey, as two major regional powers, are determined to take coordinated steps toward sustainable peace, stability, and regional development, Iran’s Foreign Minister said on Monday.
In a post published Monday night on Instagram, Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi wrote that he hosted Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s Foreign Minister, and his accompanying delegation in Tehran on Sunday. Araghchi described the meeting atmosphere as “completely friendly and constructive.”
He noted that both sides reviewed the growing trajectory of bilateral relations and reaffirmed the firm commitment of the two countries’ leaders to expanding cooperation in economic, trade, energy transit, security technology, and cultural fields.
Araghchi added that the two ministers expressed deep concern over the “catastrophic situation” in Gaza and the West Bank, strongly condemning what he called the genocide carried out by the Israeli regime. Both sides agreed on the urgent need to halt these actions and hold the regime accountable in international forums.
Regarding developments in Syria and Lebanon, the ministers emphasized full respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity of both countries while strongly condemning Israel’s continued attacks.
“Iran and Turkey, as two significant regional powers, are determined to move forward—through close coordination and cooperation—on a path toward lasting peace, stability, and regional development,” Araghchi concluded.
