WANA (May 27) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a meeting with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman during his official visit to the country on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, expressed appreciation for the active and constructive role of the Sultanate of Oman in the process of indirect negotiations with the United States. He stated: “We hope this process will lead to positive outcomes.”
During the meeting, President Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s readiness to expand cooperation with Oman in all areas, saying: “We are prepared to do everything in our power to uphold the dignity and greatness of Muslims. Each of us has capacities that we can use to promote the welfare and progress of one another and of other nations in the region. In such conditions, no foreign power will be able to dominate Muslim nations.”
He sincerely thanked the Sultanate of Oman for its clear and principled stance in support of the Palestinian people, particularly regarding Gaza.
The president also highlighted Iran’s readiness to enhance cooperation with Oman in financial, scientific, educational, technological, and especially medical fields, stating:
“In the medical sector, we can establish strong collaborative ties. Oil and gas, though God-given blessings, are not infinite. It is essential that businesspeople and industrialists from both countries plan with foresight and build a long-term economic foundation for future generations.”
He further stressed the importance of facilitating economic exchanges, trade cooperation, and expanding defense and security collaboration between the two nations.
Regarding Oman’s mediation efforts, Pezeshkian said: “We appreciate the good efforts of our friend and brother Oman in mediating the negotiations. We hope this path will produce favorable results.”
He also emphasized: “Oman holds a strategic position in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Iran fully trusts Oman, and this trust increases our mutual responsibility to strengthen relations and follow up on agreements.”
