Iran-Armenia Exports Rise Under Trade Deal
WANA (Aug 16) – The President of the Iran-Armenia Joint Chamber of Commerce, Herovik Yarijanian, has reported an increase in Iran’s exports to Armenia over the past three months, following the implementation of the Iran-Eurasia Free Trade Agreement.
Assessing the effectiveness of the agreement, which came into force roughly three months ago, Yarijanian noted that external challenges — particularly the war imposed by the Israeli regime against Iran — have prevented the full realization of its potential.
However, he emphasized that the agreement’s framework points in a positive direction and will yield stronger results once stability and calm are restored.
Yarijanian highlighted the importance of familiarizing Iranian traders with Eurasia’s markets and trade mechanisms in order to maximize the benefits of the agreement.
He proposed that the government, in cooperation with the Iran Chamber of Commerce and joint chambers with Armenia, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan, organize regular and well-structured seminars to accelerate progress.
He further recommended that Iran strengthen engagement by sending and receiving trade delegations, thereby expediting commercial ties.
Calling Armenia Iran’s primary gateway to the Russian market, Yarijanian underlined the need to elevate bilateral trade relations.
He added that despite the short implementation period, Iran’s exports to Armenia have already recorded a noticeable increase in recent months.
