WANA (Aug 16) – The Secretaries of the National Security Councils of Iran and Armenia held a telephone conversation on Saturday to discuss Tehran-Yerevan cooperation.

 

According to a statement published on the Armenian National Security Council’s website, Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan congratulated Ali Larijani on his recent appointment as Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and wished him success in his new role.

 

Grigoryan emphasized that relations between Tehran and Yerevan are well established and expressed confidence that the two sides will identify new areas of cooperation in the near future.

 

Larijani, in turn, thanked Grigoryan for his message and underlined that ties with Armenia hold strategic importance for Iran.

 

He stressed that bilateral relations have consistently produced positive results and reaffirmed his readiness to contribute to expanding multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

 

At the conclusion of the call, Larijani extended an invitation to Grigoryan to visit Iran.
