WANA (Nov 03) – A high-ranking military delegation from the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran has arrived in the Pakistani port city of Karachi to participate in the Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference (PIMEC 2025) and hold meetings with senior Pakistani military officials.

 

The Iranian delegation, led by Captain Dariush Eskandari, was warmly received this morning at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport by Pakistani officials and Colonel Mohammad Mohsen Shahabi, Iran’s military attaché in Pakistan.

 

The visiting delegation from Iran’s General Staff of the Armed Forces is scheduled to take part today in the second edition of the Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference (PIMEC 2025).

 

For the first time, the Islamic Republic of Iran will showcase its achievements in defense and naval industries at a national pavilion established at Pakistan’s largest maritime exhibition. The pavilion aims to highlight Iran’s indigenous military and technological advancements in the maritime sector.

 

The opening ceremony of PIMEC 2025 — considered Pakistan’s premier maritime event — will be attended by the Commander of the Pakistan Navy along with representatives from 44 countries. The exhibition features 28 international and 150 domestic booths.

 

A wide range of defense and technology manufacturers from Pakistan and abroad will display their latest advanced innovations in naval and maritime industries.

 

According to the Pakistan Navy, the exhibition and conference serve as a platform for public and private sector entities to showcase their products, establish commercial partnerships, and explore new opportunities across the maritime domain.

 

The event brings together key domestic and international stakeholders, including industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and investors.

 

Rear Admiral Mohammad Faisal Abbasi, Commander of the Karachi Naval Area, announced during a press briefing yesterday that alongside the exhibition, a two-day International Maritime Conference will also be held at the same venue. The conference will gather international experts, policymakers, academics, and industry leaders to discuss this year’s theme: “Harnessing the Potential of the Blue Economy for Sustainable Development.”
