Iran, Belarus to Sign Cooperation Deals in Minsk
WANA (Aug 19) – The Press Office of the Belarusian Presidency announced details of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s official visit to Minsk, confirming that the two heads of state will sign bilateral documents across various fields during the trip.
According to the statement, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will meet with Pezeshkian on August 20. Pezeshkian is scheduled to arrive in Minsk today, August 19, for the official visit.
The Belarusian state news agency reported that the two presidents will hold talks at the Palace of Independence in Minsk, both within bilateral frameworks and in broader contexts. These talks are expected to culminate in the signing of bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening the partnership between the two nations.
Lukashenko and Pezeshkian are also set to discuss cooperation in trade, investment, industrial collaboration, and the implementation of joint projects in science, technology, and education.
Coordination within international organizations — including the Eurasian Economic Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), BRICS, and the United Nations — will also be on the agenda.
Regional developments and international security issues are likewise expected to be addressed in the discussions.
