WANA (Jul 10) – The 2025 Asian Junior Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships were held on July 9–10 in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Team Iran delivered an outstanding performance, clinching the team title with a total of 185 points, ahead of Kyrgyzstan (166 points) and Uzbekistan (151 points).

 

Iran’s young wrestlers secured four gold medals and five bronze medals, showcasing their dominance in the tournament.

 

Gold Medalists:

  • Payam Ahmadi (55 kg): Defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Kutman Kalbayev 6-1 in the final.
  • Ahoora Bouyeri (77 kg): Beat Kazakhstan’s Omar Duisembek with a 15-6 technical fall in the final.
  • Mohammad Hadi Saeedi (97 kg): Overpowered South Korea’s Jino Choi 9-0 in the final.
  • Abolfazl Fathi Tezangi (130 kg): Narrowly defeated Uzbekistan’s Amirkhan Berdikulov 2-1 via technical fall to win gold.

 

Bronze Medalists:

  • Seyed Iman Hosseini (60 kg): Defeated Kazakhstan’s Alpamis Bulatuly 9-0 in the bronze medal match.
  • Mohammad Javad Aboutalebi (63 kg): Beat Uzbekistan’s Sardar Khulmorzaev 5-3 for bronze.
  • Gholamreza Abdoli (67 kg): Claimed bronze after a 5-3 win over Tajikistan’s Sonat Abdullayev.
  • Amirmahdi Saeedi-Nava (72 kg): Secured bronze with a technical fall (10-4) over India’s Akash Poonia.
  • Hamidreza Keshtkar (87 kg): Earned bronze after a technical fall win over China’s Xinyu Liu (6-0).

 

Other Iranian Results:

Alireza Mohammadhosseini (82 kg): Despite defeating Japan’s Aito Tange 4-2 in his final round, two earlier losses placed him 5th overall in a round-robin format with seven wrestlers.
