Iran Claims Gold, Bronze in Javelin at Para Athletics Worlds
WANA (Oct 04) – On the eighth day of the World Para Athletics Championships in India, Iranian athletes shone in the F54 javelin throw, securing both gold and bronze medals and raising the country’s overall tally to 12.
In Saturday’s competition (October 4), Ali Bazyar claimed the gold with a throw of 32.24 meters, while his teammate Erfan Bandari earned bronze with a mark of 31.23 meters.
With these results, Iran’s para athletics team has now collected a total of 12 medals: six golds (won by Amirhossein Alipour, Elham Salehi, Saeed Aforouz, Hassan Bajelvand, Ali Asghar Javanmardi, and Ali Bazyar), two silvers (by Mahdi Olad and Hajar Safarzadeh), and four bronzes (by Emanollah Papi, Elham Salehi, Zeinab Moradi, and Erfan Bandari).
Later today, Yasin Khosravi will compete in the javelin throw and Farzaneh Sohrabi will take part in the club throw event as Iran looks to add to its medal count.
