Iran Condemns Assassination of Al-Manar TV Presenter
WANA (Jan 27) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson strongly condemned Israel’s attack on Lebanon and the assassination of Ali Noureddine, a presenter for the Al-Manar television network.
Esmail Baghaei, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offered condolences over the “martyrdom” of Ali Noureddine to his family and to Lebanon’s media community.
He described the action by the Israeli regime as a heinous and terrorist crime and a blatant violation of the fundamental rules of international law prohibiting any form of attack on media professionals.
Baghaei stressed the responsibility of the international community, the United Nations, and international legal and judicial bodies to address the crimes committed by the Israeli regime and to hold it accountable.
Referring to Israel’s continued violations of the November 2024 ceasefire understanding and its ongoing attacks against Lebanon’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson underscored the collective responsibility of regional countries and the international community to confront the lawlessness and warmongering of the Israeli regime.
