WANA (Jun 18) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has strongly condemned recent attacks by Israeli settlers on two mosques in Ramallah, as well as assaults on Palestinians and their property in the occupied West Bank, calling for concrete action by Islamic and international bodies to halt such incidents.

Esmaeil Baghaei denounced the attacks carried out by Israeli settlers, which he said were backed by Israeli military forces. He cited the vandalism of mosques, attacks on Palestinian homes, the beating of residents, and the destruction of farms and private property.

Baghaei described these actions as part of Israel’s ongoing policies in the Palestinian territories. He also expressed deep concern over what he called the silence of international and human rights organizations, arguing that the continued inaction of the United Nations and its Security Council has contributed to ongoing violations of international law and escalating violence against Palestinians.

The spokesperson further emphasized the responsibility of Islamic governments and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to support the Palestinian people and their rights. He called on the OIC to take practical measures to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque and other religious sites in the Palestinian territories.

Baghaei also stressed the need for legal accountability, urging the prosecution and punishment of those responsible for ordering and carrying out the recent attacks.
