Iran Condemns Forced Displacement of Gaza Residents by Israeli Regime
WANA (Aug 17) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s decision to evacuate Gaza City and forcibly displace its vulnerable residents, describing it as a clear case of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
According to the statement, the Israeli regime’s plan to once again displace the people of Gaza—who have endured nearly two years of relentless bombardment and, over the past five months, a man-made famine imposed by the occupiers—is a blatant attempt to complete a campaign of genocide and erase Palestine as a nation and identity.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that this move is the result of the entrenched impunity of the Israeli regime’s leaders, enabled by the full military and political support of the United States and certain European countries, as well as by the obstruction of meaningful action at the UN Security Council and international tribunals.
The statement further noted that the timing of this crime—forced displacement of Gaza’s residents—coincides with the dangerous and provocative claim of the Israeli prime minister about pursuing the idea of a “Greater Israel,” encompassing vast parts of Arab and Islamic lands. This, it added, exposes the expansionist nature of the Israeli regime and the grave threat it poses to regional and global peace and security.
Iran warned against the Israeli regime’s plot to intensify massacres under the pretext of relocating Gaza’s residents to the south of the enclave, and urged the international community, particularly Islamic countries, to take urgent and decisive action to stop the ongoing war and genocide against the Palestinian people.
The statement concluded by emphasizing that indifference and inaction in the face of the Israeli regime’s unrestrained brutality will only embolden it to persist in its crimes and expansionist policies.
