Iran Condemns “Illegal Entry” of Israeli Leaders into Syrian Territory
WANA (Nov 20) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has condemned the recent “illegal entry” of the Israeli prime minister and several other senior officials into Syrian territory.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei denounced the move and warned of the consequences of continued warmongering and expansionist policies by the Israeli regime for regional peace and security.
Baghaei described the “criminal passage,” conducted in continuation of repeated air and ground attacks on Syria and the occupation of a significant part of the country’s south, as a provocative act aimed at consolidating and expanding the scope of occupation in southern Syria.
He emphasized the responsibility of the international community and the UN Security Council to compel the “occupying regime” to withdraw from all occupied areas in the Golan region and southern Syria.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence and Foreign Ministers visited southern Syria.
Earlier, Syria’s new leadership had also condemned this visit to southern Syria, considering it a serious violation of Syrian sovereignty and territorial unity, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on November 19.
