Iran Condemns Israeli Airstrikes on Lebanon
WANA (Oct 24) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned yesterday’s Israeli airstrikes on southern and Beqaa regions of Lebanon, which resulted in the death and injury of several Lebanese civilians, calling the attacks a terrorist crime.
Ismail Baghaei, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, on Friday (October 24) denounced the Israeli regime’s aggressive air raids on Thursday targeting southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley, which killed and wounded a number of innocent civilians, including school students in the Beqaa region.
Baghaei extended his condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Lebanon, emphasizing the need to prosecute and punish the Israeli regime for its crimes.
Referring to Israel’s ongoing impunity due to the United States’ all-encompassing support, the Iranian spokesperson said that Israel’s repeated violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity — as well as its continuous breaches of the ceasefire agreement — clearly demonstrate the terrorist and hegemonic nature of the Israeli regime.
He also reminded the international community and the United Nations Security Council of their responsibility to confront Israel’s lawlessness and crimes.
