Iran Condemns Israeli Knesset Bill on West Bank and Jordan
WANA (Jul 24) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset’s recent approval of a bill aimed at imposing the regime’s sovereignty over the West Bank and Jordan Valley, describing it as yet another indication of the expansionist and hegemonic nature of the occupying regime.
The Ministry emphasized that the Israeli Knesset’s move—coinciding with the ongoing genocide in Gaza and continued gross human rights violations in the West Bank—further reveals the regime’s ultimate objective: the complete eradication of Palestine as a land, a people, and an independent identity.
It warned that the regime recognizes no limits in pursuing this sinister goal and pays no heed to United Nations resolutions and international rulings.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the legal, moral, and political responsibility of all governments and international organizations to support the realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and their liberation from occupation and apartheid.
The statement further underlined that the negligence of the international community and responsible bodies—especially the United Nations Security Council—in fulfilling their obligations to halt genocide and war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank will only embolden the regime’s crimes and lead to a dangerous escalation of lawlessness and aggression in the occupied West Bank and beyond.
The Ministry concluded by asserting that all governments—particularly regional and Islamic countries—are duty-bound to take urgent and effective action to compel the Israeli regime and its supporters, especially the United States, to stop the killings, warfare, and expansionist ambitions of the “Zionist regime”.
