Iran Condemns Israeli Military Aggression Against Yemen
WANA (Aug 24) – Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, strongly condemned today’s Israeli air raid on Sana’a, the capital of Yemen, including the city’s infrastructure and power plant, and while expressing congratulations and condolences on the martyrdom of several Yemeni citizens during this aggression, he wished a swift recovery for the injured.
Baghaei described the repeated Israeli attacks on Yemen’s economic and civilian infrastructure, including airports, ports, power plants, and food warehouses, as war crimes and crimes against humanity, and considered these attacks a clear indication of this regime’s hostility toward the development and prosperity of the countries in the region.
Praising the solidarity and support of the Yemeni people for the oppressed people of Palestine, Baghaei reminded that it is the responsibility of all Islamic countries to take urgent action to stop the genocide and to help the people of Gaza against the famine imposed by Israel on this strip. He emphasized that taking action to confront the genocide and war crimes taking place in Gaza and the West Bank is the legal and moral duty of all governments, especially Islamic countries, and it is expected that the extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Jeddah will give special attention to this matter.
The Yemeni Ministry of Health announced that in today’s (Sunday) Israeli attacks on Sana’a, two people were killed and thirty-five others were injured.
Al Mayadeen network also reported, quoting a Yemeni source: targeting Yemen’s civilian resources is futile and cannot prevent Yemen from playing its role in supporting Gaza.
