WANA (Nov 29) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned Israel’s ground and air assault on the Beit Jinn area in southern Syria, which resulted in the deaths of several Syrian civilians, according to spokesperson Esmail Baghaei.

Baghaei emphasized the inherent right of regional nations to defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity against Israeli aggression. He described the resistance of Syrian youth against Israeli forces as a natural and legitimate response to the invasion.

The spokesperson also highlighted Israel’s continued violations of international law and the expansion of its regional crimes.

He criticized the United Nations Security Council for its inaction in the face of Israeli attacks on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries such as Syria and Lebanon, calling the situation “regrettable” and warning of its potential consequences for regional and global peace and stability.

Thirteen people were killed in an Israeli raid in southern Syria on Friday, Syrian state media reported, with Damascus accusing Israel of a “criminal attack” in a village where Israel said its troops came under fire during an operation to arrest militants.

The Israeli military said six soldiers were wounded, three of them severely, by militant fire during the raid in the village of Beit Jinn.
