WANA (Oct 12) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the repeated military aggressions by the Israeli regime against Lebanon and its ongoing violations of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity — particularly the drone strike on Saturday in the village of al-Musaylih, which targeted machinery and equipment used for debris removal and reconstruction in residential areas previously damaged by Israeli attacks.

Ismail Baghaei described the Israeli regime’s repeated breaches of the ceasefire agreement and its military incursions into Lebanese territory as a clear violation of the UN Charter and international law. He also criticized the inaction of the United States and France — as guarantors of the ceasefire — and urged the international community to take serious measures to curb the regime’s lawlessness and warmongering against Lebanon and other countries in the region.

The Israeli regime began its aggression against Lebanon on October 1, 2024 (10 Mehr 1403), and after two months, on Wednesday, November 27, signed a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States.

Under the terms of that agreement, Israeli forces were required to withdraw from southern Lebanon within 60 days. However, in defiance of international law, the regime has maintained troops in five strategic positions in the area and has failed to withdraw. Since the signing of the ceasefire, the Israeli army has violated the agreement thousands of times.

Meanwhile, these repeated attacks have taken place as the Lebanese government has recently focused on the issue of disarming Hezbollah, adding further complexity to the already tense situation.
