WANA (May 29) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, condemned the military operations by the Israeli regime against various areas in the south, east, and the Dahiyeh region in the Lebanese capital, which have resulted in casualties among the Lebanese population, the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people, and damage to infrastructure and residential buildings.

The spokesperson pointed to the intensification of the attacks and the expansion of military operations to the historic cities of Tyre, Nabatieh, and Sidon.

He stated that the silence and indifference of international bodies, particularly the United Nations Security Council, allow the Israeli regime to continue its actions, and argued that the US administration is a partner in the actions of the Israeli regime in Lebanon, Palestine, and the wider region.

The spokesperson also expressed condolences to the family, the Al-Alam media network, and the media community on the death of Hossam Zeidan, a senior journalist for the Al-Alam network.

Stating that more than 300 journalists have been killed by the Israeli regime in Palestine and Lebanon over the past three years, he called on the international community to hold the forces accountable.

The spokesperson praised the resilience of the Lebanese people against the military operations and occupation of the Israeli regime. Extending condolences to the families of those killed and the people of Lebanon, he emphasized the solidarity of the Islamic Republic of Iran with Lebanon in defending its sovereignty and independence against the expansionist goals of the Israeli regime.
