WANA (Oct 17) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs today condemned the escalation of U.S. military activities near the coast of Venezuela, including repeated attacks on fishing boats and explicit threats of force and military intervention against the country, calling these actions a clear violation of the fundamental principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter.

Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated on Friday, October 17, that the U.S. military buildup near Venezuelan waters, coupled with repeated attacks on fishing vessels and overt threats to use force or intervene militarily, constitutes a blatant breach of the core principles of the UN Charter—particularly the prohibition on the threat or use of force in international relations.

Baghaei condemned these illegal and provocative actions by the United States and emphasized the responsibility of the United Nations Security Council to prevent any aggression against international peace and security.
