WANA (Aug 21) – The Iranian Army’s “Eghtedar Paydar 2025” (dubbed in English Sustainable Authority) naval exercise, which began earlier today, has concluded successfully. The drill showcased the Iranian Navy’s strategic missile units conducting simultaneous cruise missile launches at targets hundreds of kilometers away.

The exercise also featured the Bavar-5 long-range strike drone, an intelligent UAV capable of hitting both sea and coastal targets, which successfully neutralized a designated target after a 400-kilometer flight.

The Bavar-5 strike drone was unveiled two years ago during Iran’s Armed Forces parade in Tehran. The drone is among Iran’s defense industry export products.

Surface and subsurface vessels, diving teams, and electronic warfare units participated alongside missile units. Key missile systems included:

The “Qader” is a medium-range, radar-evading anti-ship cruise missile with high destructive power and precise targeting capability, designed to engage vessels and coastal targets.

The “Qadir” is a long-range, radar-evading anti-ship missile with similar capabilities, while the “Nasir” is a short-range, radar-evading anti-ship cruise missile, all primarily intended for naval engagements.

These systems successfully engaged designated targets in the northern Indian Ocean and the Sea of Oman.

Notably, the missile ship Genaveh and destroyer Sabalan, along with the Velayat 2 shore-based system, conducted coordinated strikes, demonstrating Iran’s ability to simultaneously target surface threats using multiple missile platforms.

According to the Army’s Public Relations Office, all objectives were achieved, with a combination of shore-based and sea-based missile launches, drone strikes, and coordinated operations by surface, subsurface, and airborne units.

The exercise highlighted Iran’s integrated naval warfare capabilities and precision strike power.
