WANA (Apr 29) – Iran’s national beach water polo team has secured the gold medal at the 6th Asian Beach Games after a thrilling victory over powerhouse China in the final.

 

The Iranian squad delivered a brilliant performance to overcome China, a top-tier contender and one of the dominant forces in the sport. The match reached a dramatic conclusion as both teams battled through a high-stakes encounter.

 

After losing the opening set, Iran staged a comeback to win the second and third sets. However, China reclaimed momentum in the fourth set to force the match into a penalty shootout. Iran ultimately triumphed in the shootout with a 3–2 victory, clinching the championship title.

 

Iran currently holds the third position in the overall medal standings at the Asian Beach Games, having secured seven gold medals so far in the competition.
