WANA (Apr 12) – Iran’s national freestyle wrestling team has been crowned Asian champions after securing a total of eight medals at the Asian Wrestling Championships.

 

The competition concluded on Sunday afternoon with the final five weight categories, where Iran national freestyle wrestling team delivered a dominant overall performance to top the team standings.

 

Iran finished the tournament with eight medals in total, including three gold, one silver, and several bronze medals, confirming its superiority on the continental stage.

 

The gold medals were won by Milad Valizadeh, Kamran Ghasempour, and Mohammadmobin Azimi. Amirali Azarpira claimed a silver medal, while Sina Khalili, Ahmad Mohammadnejad Javan, and Amir Mohammad Yazdani each secured bronze medals.

 

Heavyweight wrestler Amirhossein Zareh also reached the final and was set to compete in his championship bout in the closing stages of the event.
With this result, Iran once again secured the Asian team title in freestyle wrestling, reinforcing its strong position in the sport across the continent.
