Iran Declares Victory After 12-Day Conflict with Israel
WANA (Jun 25) – The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a statement today declaring a “historic victory” over Israel, following a 12-day confrontation that ended with a ceasefire proposal from the Israeli side.
The statement credited the outcome to the leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the efforts of the armed forces, intelligence services, police, diplomatic corps, and above all, the unity and support of the Iranian people.
“With God’s help, wise leadership, and the strength of our military and diplomatic efforts, the Zionist regime and its backers were forced to retreat and propose a ceasefire,” the statement said.
Officials emphasized that the conflict began while Iran’s National Unity Government was in indirect talks with the U.S., and that Israel’s attack caused civilian and military casualties, including women, children, scientists, and commanders.
Reaffirming Iran’s doctrine, the government stated: “We never start aggression, but we will end any attack or provocation.”
The statement praised the resilience of the Iranian people and thanked various sectors of society — academics, civil activists, political figures, artists, and media — for their unity in defense of the nation.
“This war proved that when the homeland is threatened, Iranians stand united. No puppet regime can undermine Iran’s unity or deterrent strength.”
“We have always been one nation, and we will remain one nation.”
