Iran Denies Airspace Closure Amid Social Media Rumors
WANA (Jan 24) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Civil Aviation Organisation (CAO) has officially debunked rumours circulating on social media regarding the closure of the country’s airspace, clarifying that there has been no “clearing” of the skies.
Majid Akhavan, writing on the social media platform X, addressed the speculation directly, stating that no restrictions have been imposed on domestic, international, or transit flights.
Business as Usual for Aviation
According to the spokesperson, all flight operations are proceeding as scheduled. However, he offered the following guidance for travellers:
Due to current weather conditions, passengers are advised to contact the flight information hotline before heading to the airport.
Akhavan emphasised that any potential changes to flight schedules caused by weather will be communicated exclusively through the official public relations channels of the Civil Aviation Organisation.
