Iran Denies Visa Rumors Ahead of World Cup
WANA (May 23) – Iran’s Football Federation has denied reports claiming that the United States rejected visa applications for three Iranian national team players ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In an official statement, the federation said the visa process for the national team is proceeding normally and described the circulating claims as “false.”
The federation also urged media outlets and social media users to avoid spreading speculation and unofficial reports regarding the team’s travel arrangements.
It added that any updates related to Iran’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup would be announced only through official channels.
The statement came shortly after the announcement of the 30-man squad for Iran’s final training camp, featuring players including Mehdi Taremi, Alireza Beiranvand, Saman Ghoddos and Alireza Jahanbakhsh.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
