WANA (Apr 14) – Masoud Pezeshkian, during an official inspection visit to the Ministry of Communications, emphasized that Iran is not pursuing unrest or war, but will stand firm and respond forcefully if attacked.

He stated that the country is fully aware that development and prosperity are achieved through stability and calm. However, he stressed that in the face of any aggression, Iran will not retreat or bow.

Pezeshkian also criticized what he described as the “targeted assassination of capable individuals,” noting that adversaries initially focused on eliminating those who had the ability to solve problems and drive national progress. He added that this pattern is not limited to Iran, but can be observed across the region, where scientists and skilled individuals are being targeted.

Raising concerns about international norms, he questioned how attacks on hospitals, universities, and critical infrastructure such as bridges and factories could be justified under international law. According to him, the core issue for Iran’s adversaries is the country’s scientific advancement and capabilities. He argued that such actions are often followed by attempts to label the victims as “terrorists.”

Referring to developments in the Persian Gulf, Pezeshkian noted that ongoing tensions have created widespread dissatisfaction globally. Nevertheless, he said that Iran, despite being at the center of these challenges, has managed the situation relatively well due to strong internal unity and cohesion.

He concluded by stressing the importance of maintaining national unity, saying that while internal disagreements are natural—much like differences within a family—they must not be allowed to turn into division under the pressure of conflict.
