WANA (Aug 29) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed the nation’s defensive posture on Sunday, declaring that while Iran does not seek conflict, it will respond forcefully to any aggression.

 

Speaking at a ceremony marking the simultaneous inauguration of nearly 19,000 municipal and rural development projects nationwide, Pezeshkian addressed domestic governance, regional stability, and energy management amid external pressures.

 

National Unity and Defensive Resolve

Reflecting on recent geopolitical tensions and economic challenges, the president emphasized national solidarity as Iran’s core strength.

 

He reiterated that Iran does not welcome war, but asserted that the nation will stand firmly against any aggressor and added that no power can force a nation standing with full resolve to surrender.

 

He expressed gratitude for the guidance and support of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution during Government Week, pledging that the administration would devote its full resources to serving the public and advancing national dignity.

 

Pezeshkian praised local officials—including provincial governors, mayors, and rural managers—for delivering major infrastructure projects despite complicated national conditions and external pressure.

 

He further noted that despite diplomatic efforts and alongside the public’s support, the dedication of officials, and the sacrifices of armed forces commanders, Iran will not bow to any threat.

 

Winter Energy Management: Prioritizing Industry

Addressing domestic challenges, President Pezeshkian outlined strategies to navigate upcoming winter energy imbalances while keeping the national economy moving. He urged provincial leaders to ensure that manufacturing and industrial production remain uninterrupted.

 

He explained that he had instructed officials to cut power to government buildings if necessary, but stressed that electricity to industries must not be disconnected, identifying energy supplies for production as a “red line” for his administration.

 

Proposed measures to curb government energy consumption during peak demand include hybrid work models, remote work arrangements, and the consolidation of administrative buildings to divert saved capacity directly to industrial sectors.

 

Regional Cooperation and Geopolitical Stability

Pezeshkian linked domestic cohesion to regional security, asserting that internal unity disrupts efforts by external powers to destabilize the Middle East.

 

Highlighting the convergence of Government Week and Islamic Unity Week, the president called for deeper collaboration among neighboring and Islamic nations to neutralize foreign interference.

 

He concluded that if peace and stability are to take shape globally, that peace must emerge from within the region, maintaining that regional nations can secure stability and growth through unified cooperation.
