Iran, Egypt FMs Urge Full Israeli Pullout from Southern Lebanon
WANA (Aug 08) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation on Thursday night to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.
During the call, the two sides exchanged views on the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza caused by the continuation of the “unjust blockade” of the enclave and what they described as the Israeli regime’s aggressive plans to escalate attacks and fully occupy the Gaza Strip.
Both ministers underscored the urgent need for effective action by Islamic countries to halt what they termed “genocide” and to facilitate the immediate delivery of international humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The two ministers also discussed the situation in Lebanon, emphasizing the importance of maintaining trust and internal coordination among different political factions and avoiding measures that could lead to domestic tensions.
In this context, they stressed the necessity of the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied areas in southern Lebanon and an end to Israeli attacks on the country.
