Iran, Egypt Foreign Ministers Discuss Return To Diplomatic Path
WANA (Aug 25) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, held a phone call to discuss the latest regional developments, implementation of the understanding between Tehran and Washington, and the course of negotiations between Iran and Oman.
Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said the two sides reviewed ongoing efforts to reduce tensions and create conditions for a return to the diplomatic track. The efforts are aimed at reaching a comprehensive and lasting agreement that addresses the concerns of all sides and contributes to strengthening regional security and stability.
Abdelatty also stressed the need to intensify diplomatic efforts, reach peaceful understandings, ensure freedom of international navigation, and safeguard the security of the countries along the Persian Gulf.
According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty also heard Araghchi’s assessment of the latest developments, the course of negotiations, and the challenges facing the process.
