WANA (Jul 10) – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London issued a strong statement condemning the recent report by the UK Parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee, describing it as “biased, political, and baseless.” The embassy categorically rejected the allegations made in the report, labeling them as provocative and contrary to diplomatic principles.

In the statement, the embassy expressed “strong objection and firm rejection” to the “unfounded, politically motivated, and hostile accusations” contained in the report.

The embassy further stated that the Iranian government completely denies all the claims made in the report, describing them as “groundless, irresponsible, and reflective of a broader pattern of distortion aimed at undermining Iran’s legitimate regional and national interests.”

It added that these allegations lack credible evidence and contradict Iran’s principled commitment to international law, sovereign equality, and peaceful coexistence.

The embassy emphasized that the report “is neither based on reality nor helpful in resolving misunderstandings,” but rather “complicates the public and policymakers’ understanding by spreading misinformation, leading to miscalculations.”

Regarding specific accusations that Iran is involved in or supports violent acts, espionage, or cyberattacks on British soil or against UK interests abroad, the statement “fully and categorically rejects” such claims as defamatory and dangerous, warning that they unnecessarily escalate tensions and undermine diplomatic norms.

Iran’s embassy reiterated its repeated calls for the presentation of credible evidence and expressed readiness for direct dialogue and bilateral intelligence cooperation to resolve misunderstandings and prevent further mistrust. It warned that repeating unproven allegations only fuels distrust.

The statement also reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to the peaceful use of nuclear energy within its obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). It stressed that Iran’s nuclear program remains transparent, peaceful, and subject to the most stringent international verification.

Additionally, the embassy condemned the use of unsubstantiated intelligence assessments to justify hostile policies and urged the UK government to refrain from disseminating false information that harms bilateral relations and regional stability.

The statement came hours after the UK Parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee released a report accusing Iran of involvement in security threats against the UK.

Iran’s embassy advised the report’s authors to focus instead on the real root causes of regional challenges—namely, the severe crimes and illegal aggressions committed by the Israeli regime, backed by its Western allies.

It stated that Western countries’ overlooking of Israel’s war crimes, genocide, crimes against humanity, and blatant violations of international law inevitably provoke legitimate reactions against the aggressors.

Finally, the embassy called on UK officials, including members of Parliament, to reconsider historical facts beyond their biased and political perspectives, and adopt a more balanced, constructive, and responsible approach toward Iran—one based on mutual respect, non-interference, and genuine commitment to diplomacy.
