Iran Embassy in Copenhagen Denies Defection Rumors
WANA (Mar 20) – The Embassy of Iran in Copenhagen has denied rumors that diplomats have sought asylum, saying it has “proudly raised the flag again.”
In a statement, the embassy addressed reports circulating about the incident on March 26, saying that due to a security breach by Danish police, an intruder entered the embassy premises through a back gate and briefly altered the Iranian flag. Embassy staff quickly intervened, restored the flag, and the intruder was arrested.
The embassy also rejected claims that any Iranian diplomats had defected, emphasizing that all staff continue to carry out their duties with pride.
It concluded by stating that the embassy in Copenhagen remains a “secure and unwavering stronghold” in defense of the Islamic Revolution.
