WANA (Jun 19) – Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that plans are being made for the Iranian Foreign Minister to travel to Geneva to hold talks on the nuclear issue and the lifting of sanctions.

Baghaei emphasized the Iranian diplomatic corps’ firm support for the country’s armed forces in defending the homeland against what he described as the “criminal aggression of the Israeli regime.”

He stated that preparations are underway for a joint meeting—at the request of the three European countries and the EU’s foreign policy chief—focused on nuclear negotiations and recent regional developments following Israel’s military attack on Iran.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi also announced in an interview that a meeting has been scheduled for Friday, June 20, 2025, in Geneva, where the Iranian delegation will hold consultations with the foreign ministers of the UK, France, Germany, and the representative of the European Union.

According to Araghchi, the meeting is being held at the request of the European Troika (EU3).
