WANA (Aug 25) – Nuclear negotiations between Iran and the three European countries—Germany, France, and the United Kingdom—will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, in Geneva, Switzerland.

According to an informed source quoted by Iranian domestic media, Tehran and the three European countries have agreed to hold these talks, with the agenda focused on nuclear issues and the lifting of sanctions.

Majid Takht-Ravanchi will head the Iranian delegation, while deputy foreign ministers from Germany, France, and the UK are expected to attend on behalf of their respective governments.

Last Friday, the foreign ministers of the three European countries and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs held a joint phone call with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

During the call, Araghchi outlined Iran’s position regarding the so-called “snapback” mechanism, stressing what he described as the lack of legal and moral grounds for the European countries and the EU to invoke it, and warning of the consequences of such a move.

The three European ministers and the EU representative, for their part, reiterated their readiness to seek a diplomatic solution.

It was agreed at the end of the call that Iran and the three European countries, along with the EU, would continue discussions in Geneva at the deputy foreign minister level on Tuesday of the following week.
