WANA (Aug 28) – Following catastrophic flooding and massive landslides across parts of Nepal that left hundreds of people dead or missing and destroyed local homes and infrastructure, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei expressed deep sympathy with the government and people of Nepal, particularly the families of the victims and the missing. He also wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the disaster.

 

On Wednesday, a rare natural disaster struck the Himalayan highlands along the border between China’s Tibet region and Nepal.

 

Reports indicate that the severe landslide has so far claimed around 500 lives, with more than 1,500 individuals currently missing.
