Iran Files Complaint Against IAEA Chief with UN Security Council
WANA (Jun 21) – Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, has lodged a formal complaint with the UN Security Council over what he described as the politicized, selective, and discriminatory approach of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) toward Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities.
According to Iravani’s letter, the Director General’s conduct constitutes a clear and ongoing violation of his legal obligations regarding impartiality, professionalism, and objectivity—principles explicitly laid out in the IAEA Statute. This behavior, Iravani asserted, has seriously undermined the credibility, neutrality, and legitimacy of the Agency.
